Getting Started
1. Installation & Setup
- Download AI Rename from the Mac App Store
- Launch the app and grant necessary permissions when prompted
- Open Settings (⌘,) - to change default file renaming rules or disable Auto-rename Files
2. Basic Usage (Auto-rename Files is enabled by default)
- Drag and drop files into the AI Rename window
- Or use the "Select Files" button to select files
- AI Rename will analyze each file and suggest new names
- AI Rename will rename the files automatically by default. Can be disabled in Settings (⌘,)
- The files are renamed, you can click the orange "Undo" button to revert the name individually
- Or you can revert all changes using the orange undo icon in the top right
3. Basic Usage (when Auto-rename Files is disabled)
- Drag and drop files into the AI Rename window
- Or use the "Select Files" button to select files
- Click the top right "Process with AI" button to analyze files
- AI Rename will analyze each file and suggest new names
- The files are marked "Ready to rename"
- Click the green "Rename files", also top right, to apply changes
- The files are renamed, you can click the orange "Undo" button to revert the name
- Can be enable Auto-rename Files in Settings (⌘,)
4. Tips & Best Practices
- Use the undo feature if you're not satisfied with results
- Create backups of important files before batch operations
- Customize naming patterns in Settings
